Frequently Asked Questions About the Ávila and Segovia Day Trip

What will you visit during the Ávila and Segovia excursion?
This full-day tour combines two UNESCO World Heritage cities. In Ávila, we will admire its impressive medieval city walls—among the best preserved in the world—as well as the exterior of its Gothic Cathedral and the Basilica of San Vicente. In Segovia, we will be amazed by the majestic Roman Aqueduct, walk through the historic Jewish Quarter, see the Cathedral (known as the “Lady of Cathedrals”), and visit the spectacular Alcázar, a fairytale castle that inspired Walt Disney.
How is transportation from Madrid arranged?
Round-trip transportation is provided in a comfortable modern tour coach equipped with air conditioning, heating, and spacious seating. The journey allows you to enjoy the scenery of the Sierra de Guadarrama while the guide shares historical insights before arriving at each destination.
How long does the tour last and what time do we depart?
The excursion lasts approximately 9 to 10 hours in total, including travel time. Departure from central Madrid is usually in the early morning (around 08:30), allowing you to make the most of the day, with return scheduled for late afternoon so you can enjoy the evening in Madrid.
Are entrance tickets to the Alcázar of Segovia and other monuments included?
We offer different booking options. You can choose a basic option that includes transportation and guided walking tours, or a package with entrance tickets included, allowing you direct access to key monuments such as the Alcázar of Segovia without waiting in line. Please check each option carefully when booking.
Will we have free time to explore and have lunch?
Yes! The itinerary is designed to balance guided explanations with free time. You will have time in Segovia to enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant and try local specialties such as roast suckling pig, buy souvenirs, or take photos of the Aqueduct from different viewpoints.
Where is the meeting point in Madrid for departure?
The departure point is located in a central and easily accessible area of Madrid (near Plaza de España). The exact location, map, and detailed instructions on how to reach it by metro or bus will be sent to your email immediately after booking confirmation.
What level of physical fitness is required?
Both cities are historic and feature cobblestone streets, slopes, and stairs (especially when accessing viewpoints or the Alcázar). While the walking pace is relaxed and suitable for most travelers, we recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and dressing appropriately for the weather, as Ávila is usually colder than Madrid.
What is the cancellation policy for this tour?
We understand that travel plans can change. You can review the specific cancellation terms during the booking process. In general, we offer a flexible policy that allows free cancellation or date changes if requested within the minimum notice period stated in the activity conditions.

What do you think about us?

Exactly what I needed when I landed in Madrid! I would recommend everyone to book one of these tours as the first thing to do when visiting Madrid!
